Directory & Advertising Terms

Version 1.1 · Effective October 21, 2026 · Includes the Ontario coverage and paid placement addenda below, plus the Founding Advertiser Offer addendum dated October 22, 2026. Save or print this page for your records.

These terms explain business listings and sponsored placements on Ontario Home Intel (“OHI”, “we”, “us”) at ontariohomeintel.ca. They apply to the business and the person authorized to apply on its behalf (“you”). Our contact email is info@ontariohomeintel.ca.

At a glance: Apply first. A human reviews every application. If approved for a paid plan, we arrange Stripe or Interac e-Transfer payment by email. Enhanced is $99 CAD and Featured is $299 CAD for a 12-month term from activation. Applicable tax and the final total are confirmed before payment. There is no automatic renewal. Payment does not guarantee approval, website traffic, enquiries, sales or a particular ad position.

1. What each listing includes

Each package covers one approved business profile, its genuine service categories and its approved Ontario service areas. Character limits include spaces. The directory card shows a shorter excerpt; the full allowed description appears in business details.

Basic

Free
  • Up to 300 characters of description.
  • Business name, website link, phone, service categories and areas, when supplied and approved.
  • Alphabetical placement within the Basic group, after active Featured and Enhanced listings.
  • No logo, photos, gallery or sponsored page placements.

Enhanced

$99 CAD / 12 months
  • Up to 900 characters of description.
  • One square business logo.
  • One main business photo inside expanded business details.
  • Website link, phone and approved service categories and areas.
  • Priority above Basic listings and below Featured listings; alphabetical within Enhanced.
  • Eligibility for compact sponsored page placements with a small logo, business name, service areas and profile link. Enhanced placements appear below Featured and rotate in their own pool.

Featured

$299 CAD / 12 months
  • Up to 1,600 characters of description.
  • One square business logo.
  • A larger main photo on the directory card.
  • Up to four additional gallery photos in business details.
  • Website link, phone and approved service categories and areas.
  • Labelled Sponsored in the Featured group, ahead of other directory listings; ordering rotates on page loads.
  • Eligibility for larger sponsored cards on relevant Ontario and Niagara pages, tools and calculators. Featured cards include a larger logo, promotional description and prominent profile link, and appear above Enhanced placements.

Basic listings have no purchased fixed term. They may remain published while eligible and accurate, subject to review, correction, removal and continued operation of the directory. A paid package is for presentation and advertising features, not a verification badge or professional endorsement. Basic appears in the directory only. Enhanced is labelled Best value for its price and included benefits; Featured is labelled Highest visibility for its larger advertisements and position above Enhanced within OHI. These labels do not guarantee audience size or results.

2. Enhanced and Featured advertising: where and how it appears

Ontario coverage addendum — October 21, 2026: Niagara and other Ontario businesses may request either advertising only in their selected service areas or Ontario-wide advertising. Service areas describe where the business actually provides services; advertising coverage is a separate choice and requires OHI approval. Existing listings retain their selected-area advertising coverage unless broader coverage is requested and approved. Actual service areas remain visible on sponsored cards.

The placement network includes relevant public municipal guides and Passport sales pages across Ontario, plus OHI tools and calculators. Selected-area advertising matches approved service areas; Ontario-wide advertising can appear on relevant pages throughout the province. Service categories, optional narrower placement restrictions, page exclusions, active Enhanced or Featured status and availability still apply. General Ontario tools require approved Ontario-wide advertising or genuine province-wide service coverage. One Property Services Directory includes approved Ontario businesses. Visitors can select Ontario-wide to browse all businesses or Niagara only to show businesses whose approved service areas include Niagara. Province-wide service providers can appear in both views. This addendum does not retroactively alter a previously accepted paid order; its confirmed scope remains in force unless a change is agreed.

Paid placement addendum — October 21, 2026: Both Enhanced and Featured can qualify for page advertisements. Each requires an active paid term, a published and approved listing, a suitable logo, the business’s permission, OHI’s placement approval and matching categories and geographic coverage. Featured additionally requires a promotional description of 10–140 characters, including spaces. Enhanced uses a compact card without promotional copy. Existing Enhanced businesses require permission and placement approval before their page advertisements begin. If required materials or permissions are missing, the directory listing can continue while page advertising remains inactive. Confirm advertising eligibility before agreeing to pay if this benefit is important to your purchase.

Both card types carry a Sponsored label and show the business name, logo, actual service areas and a link to the directory profile. Featured has a larger logo, short promotional description and prominent profile link. Enhanced has a smaller logo and compact text link below the Featured group. The profile’s “Visit website” button links to the supplied website; sponsored cards link to the directory profile.

Each fresh page load may show up to two eligible Featured businesses followed by up to two eligible Enhanced businesses. Each tier has a separate random rotation pool; Enhanced does not take a Featured space. If only one tier has eligible businesses, only that tier’s placements appear. Advertisers can share a pool with competitors, and random selection does not guarantee equal turns. Advertising is not an exclusive category, city, fixed banner, fixed position or guaranteed appearance on every visit. There is no minimum number of pages, impressions, clicks, enquiries, sales, search rankings or return on investment. Ad blockers, visitor settings, outages and relevance can affect display.

Paid Property Passport reports, private/admin pages, checkout and confirmation screens, and print/PDF outputs are excluded. Social posts, email campaigns, custom banner design and other advertising are not included unless separately agreed in writing. OHI may show its own “Your ad here” placeholder when no eligible advertiser is available; it does not represent a paid business.

Any supplied impression or click figures are approximate operational measurements, not audited audience figures or a billing basis. OHI may adjust the layout and rotation while preserving the purchased features. Material loss of purchased service is addressed under section 8.

3. Application, review and acceptance

An application is a request for review, not a purchase, guaranteed approval or reservation. You must have authority to represent the business and permission to use every submitted name, image, logo and claim. Your business must genuinely serve its selected areas and hold any licences, registrations or insurance legally required for the advertised work.

OHI can request supporting information, correct formatting, reject misleading or unsuitable material, or decline an application. Human review does not mean OHI has verified every claim, qualification or insurance policy. Payment cannot buy editorial recommendations, favourable guidance, an endorsement or a verification badge. A backlink to OHI is optional.

Before a paid order is accepted, our email will identify the business, chosen package, included advertising scope, price, applicable tax, final total, payment method and proposed activation arrangements. It will also identify the seller’s legal name and business contact details and provide these terms, or a retainable copy, with their version. You can correct errors, decline or ask questions before accepting. Confirm the order and terms by reply email before paying. An application acknowledgement alone does not authorize payment.

Founding Advertiser Offer — October 22, 2026 addendum

The first 10 new paid advertisers across Enhanced and Featured may receive 50% off their first 12-month term: Enhanced $49.50 CAD (regular $99 CAD) or Featured $149.50 CAD (regular $299 CAD). Basic remains free. Discounted advertisers receive the same package benefits, review requirements, geographic eligibility and rotation rules as regular-price advertisers.

Availability is confirmed by OHI in the written order before payment. Submitting an application does not reserve a spot. A spot is secured only after human approval and verified payment and is recorded by OHI. The term begins on the confirmed activation date. This is one introductory term per new advertising business; it is not a recurring discount or a promise of traffic, enquiries or sales.

Previously issued $50 CAD Featured offers will be honoured for the businesses to which OHI already made that promise, subject to their original written offer. Those existing promises are separate from, and do not use, the 10 new half-price offer spots. Offers cannot be combined. No new $50 Featured offer is being made by this addendum.

Any applicable tax and the final total are confirmed before payment. Payment is arranged by email through Stripe or Interac e-Transfer after review. There is no automatic charge or renewal. Future renewal is optional at the regular price disclosed and agreed at renewal. Offer allocations are not reopened automatically after expiry, removal or refund; the cancellation and refund provisions elsewhere in these terms still apply. Any previously accepted order keeps its agreed price and terms.

4. Payment by Stripe or Interac e-Transfer

After review, OHI arranges payment by email. Stripe is used for eligible online payment methods through an OHI-issued invoice or secure payment link. Interac e-Transfer instructions are supplied privately by OHI. Do not send a transfer solely because you submitted an application. Never email card details or online banking credentials.

Published prices are in Canadian dollars. Any applicable tax and the exact total are disclosed before payment; tax is not silently added after acceptance. A price change applies to future orders or renewals, not an already accepted paid term. Custom work, extra campaigns, multiple profiles, upgrades or other charges require a separate written agreement.

We verify receipt of the payment before granting paid features. A transfer screenshot or payment promise is not confirmation of cleared funds. OHI records the payment reference and issues a payment/activation confirmation. Payment does not automatically publish a profile or start an advertising campaign.

5. Activation, the 12-month term and renewal

The paid term begins on the activation date stated in OHI’s written confirmation, once payment is verified and the purchased listing is live. Time awaiting application review, payment verification or initial publication is not counted as paid advertising time. If off-directory promotion is part of your accepted Enhanced or Featured order, OHI will confirm that its required materials and approval are ready at activation, or agree a different start arrangement with you in writing.

The confirmation states the start date and inclusive paid-through date. For example, an October 21, 2026 activation normally runs through October 20, 2027. Paid-through dates use OHI’s website local time. There is no automatic renewal, recurring card charge or automatic e-Transfer request. Renewal requires a new written confirmation and verified payment at the agreed renewal price.

At expiry, the public profile automatically falls back to Basic: its public description is capped at 300 characters, images are hidden and paid Enhanced or Featured status and all sponsored placements stop. Stored longer text and images can be retained for renewal. Expiry does not automatically delete media files; direct original file URLs may remain accessible. Ask OHI if you need content removed. If a renewal is late, paid features can lapse until verified and reactivated.

6. Content and image standards

  • Logo: one square JPG, PNG or WebP; at least 200 × 200 pixels, 600 × 600 recommended; maximum 1 MB.
  • Main photo: one landscape JPG, PNG or WebP; at least 800 × 500 pixels, 1600 × 1000 recommended; maximum 3 MB.
  • Featured gallery: up to four landscape JPG, PNG or WebP images; at least 800 × 500 pixels each; maximum 2 MB per image.
  • Text: the selected package’s description limit applies, including spaces. Featured promotional copy has its own 10–140-character limit; Enhanced page advertisements do not include promotional copy. An Other service name is limited to 30 characters and requires manual classification before publication or advertising. No misleading claims, unlawful offers, harassment, discriminatory content, malware or unlicensed material.

OHI may resize, compress, crop and format media for responsive display. Image sizes above are upload requirements, not a promise of fixed on-screen dimensions. You retain ownership of your materials and grant OHI a non-exclusive permission to store, format and display them for the approved directory and advertising service. This does not grant permission to sell your materials to unrelated advertisers.

Submit only public-facing materials. Although an application is reviewed privately, uploaded media can have accessible direct URLs before approval and after expiry or removal. Do not upload confidential documents, customer information, private addresses or identifiable people without the necessary permission.

7. Updates, responsibilities and visitor enquiries

Request corrections, content changes, tier changes or removal at info@ontariohomeintel.ca. Updates receive human review and must stay within the paid package. No extra change fee is incurred unless quoted and accepted first. An upgrade or downgrade does not automatically create a credit, new term or prorated price; any change is confirmed in writing.

You are responsible for keeping your services, contact details, website, qualifications and advertising claims accurate. Tell us promptly if the business closes, loses a required licence or stops serving an advertised area. OHI may remove an unsafe destination link or pause disputed content while reviewing it.

Visitors contract directly with the listed business. OHI does not quote for the business, book its services, collect its service fees or guarantee its work. Advertisers handle their own enquiries, estimates, contracts, insurance, customer privacy and complaints. A listing creates no agency, partnership or REALTOR® client relationship with OHI.

8. Cancellation, refunds, interruptions and removal

Before activation: you may withdraw by email. If payment has been received but the paid service has not started, it is refunded in full. If OHI declines the listing or cannot supply the accepted package, any payment for that unstarted package is refunded.

After activation: you can request removal or stop advertising at any time. A change of mind, low traffic, a lack of enquiries or unused advertising eligibility does not normally qualify for a refund of the remaining term. There is no future automatic charge to cancel. Any mandatory rights or refund entitlement under applicable law still apply.

Service failure or OHI discontinuation: tell us if purchased features are unavailable. OHI will restore them and provide an equivalent extension for verified OHI-caused loss of purchased service. If we cannot restore the agreed service, or discontinue it for reasons unrelated to your breach, we refund the undelivered portion on a daily prorated basis. Brief routine maintenance or a single missed rotating display does not by itself mean the purchased service was not supplied.

Content or eligibility problems: OHI may pause or remove unlawful, unsafe, misleading, unauthorized or materially inaccurate content, or an ineligible business. We will explain the issue and allow correction where reasonably possible; urgent safety or legal concerns can require immediate action. No refund is normally due for service lost because of your material breach, subject to applicable law. If the issue is OHI’s error, the service-failure remedy above applies.

Refunds are returned through the original method where practical, with the amount and any applicable tax adjustment confirmed in writing. OHI does not impose a separate cancellation fee under these standard packages.

9. Privacy, disputes and changes to terms

Your approved public business details are visible to visitors. Your private applicant contact details and payment administration records are used to review and administer the listing under our Privacy Policy. We do not sell private application contact details. Stripe and your financial institution process payment data under their own terms and privacy practices.

Contact OHI first with a concern and include the business name and order or payment reference. These terms are governed by Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law, subject to rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here removes mandatory legal rights. OHI does not promise uninterrupted operation or business results, but remains responsible for delivering the accepted advertising service and the remedies described above.

Future versions may apply to new applications and renewals. We will not retroactively reduce an accepted paid package’s benefits or change its price during that term without your agreement. The version provided with your accepted order and any specific written order terms govern that purchase; mandatory law takes precedence. Keep your order, terms, receipt and activation confirmation together.
